Celebrating at Morning Breeze Healthcare

During the month of May, Morning Breeze Healthcare celebrated National Nursing Home Week with tons of activities for both the residents and the staff. Kathy and Emily spent an afternoon visiting with residents Thelma Meece and Pauline Schoettmer.

Thelma has been a long time WTRE listener and was a dedicated morning birthday caller for many many years. We reminisced about growing up in Decatur County, some WTRE memories, and her life at Morning Breeze. Thelma is an avid Puzzle builder and several of her puzzles are on display at Morning Breeze and Thelma has given many puzzles as gifts to new residents, friends and family. She holds the record of piecing together over 200 puzzles since moving into Morning Breeze. Thelma thanks Annette White, Activity Director, and the Maintenance Staff for helping her to frame her puzzles and hang them.

Emily spent some time with Pauline Schoettmer. Pauline is a happy cheerful lady that also loves to work on puzzles. She enjoys music and being busy. Pauline shared memories of being a Napoleon Bearcat and the love of her family. Pauline loves living at Morning Breeze and says they provide her with such good care and credits them with giving her the help she needed to get back on her feet. And they serve the best breakfasts!

Thank you Morning Breeze for our visit!

AUDIO Interviews will air on WTRE this week.
