From Decatur County Sheriff Bill Meyerrose
On Thursday, June 20, 2024 at approximately 10:26 PM, Decatur County
Communications received a call advising of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle near
5625 N. St. Rd. 3. Upon arrival of first responders, two patients were located, both of
which had been upon the motorcycle.
The motorcycle, a 2006 Harley Davidson, was traveling northbound on St. Rd. 3,
followed by a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The motorcycle slowed to turn east from St.
Rd. 3 when it was struck from behind by the Chevrolet.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer was driven by a 17 year old male and the Harley Davison was
being driven by Joshus P. Fields of Greensburg with the passenger being Abby J. Collins
of Rushville. Both Fields and Ms. Collins were flown to Methodist Hospital in
Indianapolis by Stat Flight. Ms. Collins succumbed to her injuries at Methodist Hospital.
